Default EP3 Camber Kit

First... I have an '02 Si w/ 17 in wheels and Eibach Pro Kit drop springs 1" (F), 1.1" (R) If anyone else has done this, I'd like to know how bad i need a camber kit. To me the negative camber is pretty obvious and I'm concerned with the tire wear issue. Could someone tell me which camber kit would be best for the rear. (thought im sure it would be the kit eibach makes for the Pro Kit springs). Also, would the camber kit for the rear of a 96-00 civic ex fit? I havent looked, but i have one available. Thanks.

i have a friend with an 03 si with the prokit and no camber kit and he says his camber is just fine with no unusual wear on his tires. once he got the springs installed he let them settle for about 3000 miles or so and then went to NTB to get an allignment done and they said he was still in honda specs for that car and was fine.

It doesn't sound like they checked the rear camber. I have the Pro-kit and that left me with negative 1.5 degrees camber in the rear. The track angle was off also.

stock spec for camber in the rear is -1.3 to -1.7

prok kit will leave you well within that range. 2" drop that my h&r springs resulted in yielded only -1.7 rear camber. still within stock spec.

of course I wouldn't reccomend that you run -1.7, but it won't wear the tires that fast, and it's within stock spec.

Stock spec for rear camber according to the helms manual is -0*45' or basically -.5 degrees. Front spec is straight up at 0 degrees.

hmm. interesting. the alignment shop I went to has the stock spec printed as -1.3 to -1.7.

in the helms manual, section 18 page 6,

rear camber angle is specified at -55 minutes +/- 45 minutes. That means that the camber spec is -1 degree to -.17 degrees.

chunky is correct!

...in the helms manual, section 18 page 6,

</TD></TR></TABLE>

but the helms also has -0°45' +/- 45' on page 2-9 specs...

in any case with page 2-9, (i think there are 60' per 1°) the limit would be between straight up 0°0' to -1°30' (or -1.5°). mine is at -1.9° left and -2.0° right with eibach sportlines and i haven't put a kit on. maybe i won't - the ep3 feels great at autox and the tires don't seem to wear becasue of the camber...

toe is important in tie wear - mine is neutral or as close to 0 as possible.

My car has no noticable front camber. Only the rear is noticeable, but not real bad. A couple days ago, after driving home a little over 30 miles, I got out of my car and noticed the rear tires smelled a little like burning rubber, but weren't hot..im guessing this is a camber problem wearing out the inside of the rear tires. So help me out with the correct kit to buy here, will ya?

Just wondering....when moving at slow speeds, and i turn the wheel hard either direction, i hear the front left spring pop occasionally. Could this just be the spring breaking in...or should i reseat the spring?

i'm not sure what to tell ya, i've had mine on for over a week now(prokit) and haven't smelled anything. as far as a camber kit for them it seems to be a matter of opinion. take it to a shop and get a 4 wheel alignment done and see what specs they come up with and go from there, that's what i'm going to do in the spring.

You don`t need a camber kit with a pro-kit.

I have a friend with an RSX Type S. He also has the prokit springs and has driven the car for about 5 months without a camber kit. The camber looks about the same on both cars. Tire wear doesnt seem to be bad on his car. I guess its just my personal preference to buy one.

So, I should get an alignment done and just see what they say about needing a camber kit? My alignment is fine though, no shaking, and the cars doesnt pull either direction
