Default bad 02 sensor?

Can someone tell me what some of the symptoms of a bad 02 sensor are. Does your car run really bad or does the check engine light just come on? If it varys from different cars and engines, I have a 93 civic coupe dx with a d15b7 in it and I just put an airmass header on it and now the check engine light is on. I did reuse the old 02 sensor but it's only 8 months old or maybe with a header I need and aftermarket one?

you either have a leak at the flange where the O2 sensor is bolted, or you have a bad sensor.. otherwise you can try taking fine grit sndpaper to clean it off..

reset your ecu and see if that works.
take off the neg. battery cable for like 5 mins and then crank it up.

i doubt a bad sensor is your culprit.sounds like you either forgot to plug some sensor back up,or maybe you turned the key on while you had the O2 unplugged, storing the code.
check your codes and tell us what you have,or try resetting the ECU and it should go away.

at what point would the light come on indicating a bad o2??

I still have my original o2(primary) and my car has 96k miles.
I am sure it is fried!!!! I was planning to replace it 30 some miles ago, but the price scared me...and I never ended up doing it.

Otherwise, what I am asking is.....I am sure mine is trash, but since my light has not come on indicating a bad o2....how is this effecting my cars performance. The engine's got to know the sensor is crap.
ya know what I am saying??

from my past experience, the O2 can be bad and not throw a CEL.i have seen a coupel extreme cases where it did.usually partial throttle engine performance will suffer when the sensor starts going bad.
check into a universal O2(doesn't have a plug, you can just swap yours over)sensor at your local auto parts store.usually, they have a decent price.just to give you an idea,Advance Auto Parts lists a Bosch universal for $59.99...
