F22 Performance Capabilites - experienced techs only please.
Has anyone really built an all-motor f22 ? Wanting to see some powerful F22's.
Take a vtec motor and add a set of .5 over 11:1 pistons with a built head P&P, cam gear and agressive cam. P&P throttle body and manifold. Decent intake, header and exhaust, straight pipe. Good clutch. Bigger injectors. Engine management.
It will cost me about 1000$ all said and done, doing a mojority of the work myself.
(already have I/H/E/Test pipe)
Has anyone done anything remotely close and how happy were you with the setup?
Include numbers if applicable.
Thanks.

If you do everything you just listed and a lightened flywheel, plus some weight reduction, you should be able to comfortably run low 15s, maybe high 14s depending on the exact setup.
Don't forget...Nitrous oxide can also be your friend if you build the motor to handle it and use it properly.
I think you'll have major traction issues though. Accord suspensions aren't really built for launching so you will lose some time in your ET there.

I don't consider myself an experienced tech but I know a thing or 2 about engines and was looking around.....what are your goals for the motor or are you wanting to just know the potential of the motor?
All of you need to re-read the first post.
Im not really getting any of the answers I was asking for in my 1st post.

i own my business and get good but not great prices...and at my cost i calculate more than $1000
raceeng will want about $500 for pistons and rings unless you do a $1500+ buy in with them...if you know someone else that has teh 11:1 pistons on teh shelf you are doing great!
headwork is i guess all dependant on who you know so i cant guesstimate a cost on it. the cam will be a regrind ranging from $75 to $350 or so, cam gear will be in hte 70 dollar range, a good clutch will run at least $250 or sothough most are more. injectors expect around 200-500 depending on teh brand though im sure you can get rebuilds from another model car for cheap, and engine management is gonna me at minimum $200 thoug a better system such as hondata will run far more...
closer to $1500 there and even then that doesnt account for rebuild parts.
though with all that you should see dome good gains in power! honestly though id jsut spray on that if it was my buildup....

There is a guy who has a 90-93 body style accord with abuilt f22, pretty gutted out too, you shold see if anyone has info on his car.
well what are you looking for? spec's of an all motor f22?? not many people build their f22 and if they do they normally go turbo... just letting you know because if you are looking for all these numbers of how much power your setup is going to put out, there arent many people who do it... dont get me wrong there are many well built f22's but its not the engine of choice for most tuners
and then again what most people are saying... a grand for all of that... unless they are hot or you know some people who are willing to almost give that stuff away... its gonna cost you more than a grand

to answer your post:
im sure someone has built a all motor f22, it problay took alot of money and the result were mediocre.
if you want to go all out, go with a .20 overbore 11.5- 12.5 - 1 and run race gas/93 octane mix. pnp head/cam/gear sound good. i didnt see anything abot rods. i figure if your gonna redo the head you will be able to rev higher, you might wanna think about rods and some good rod bolts to be safe.
if you could do all his for under $2000 that would be a nice feat.
i say go for it, take a ton of pictures and post them here.
run it at the track every step of the way to see what gave the most gain.
any questions i didnt answer? any other questions you wanna ask, feel free to ask away

actually he IS technically the FASTEST all motor honda w/ 135.6mph trap speed although, not the quickest(yet). he ran 90% of the season on the F22 and now uses F18 power.
for everyone that says you cant make power on an F22 or any single cam for that matter, please dont speak unless you know. im not going to use this thread as a big rant fest but the he said/she said, opinions, etc. are getting to a laughable point on this site and Accord forum in particular.

i like the F22, but I think that for a streetable build in my opinion achieving 200whp would be VERY difficult.
having never seen dyno charts or timeslips for any form of na built f22 though, i am not certain.

200Whp from an built NA F is very doable, just pricey. I have a good freind putting down 289whp/301tq w/ his NA 1994 Accord. As soon as i get a pair of the 400whp axles from http://www.driveshaftshop.com, I will be happily putting a quite streetable 400 down myself
i have no choice to be doubtful about somebody making 289whp on a na F series motor. and especially about it being streetable.
give dynocharts and specs please or i believe the majority of the honda-tech accord population will be calling BS.
edit: i know that it is possible to put down number like that, but DEFINATELY not easy.

I agree anything can be done with enough $$$'s but until I see the car on the dyno and the printer feeding the paper I find that hard to believe, much less that it's a streetable setup.

Im wanting to see some real-world results, tips and parts combinations from experienced techs using the F22 platform for all-motor... not looking for opinions from your average bolt-on rice-boy know it all who memorizes every super street magazine just so he can sound smart. lol.
For all of you out there with quick "all-motor" F22's.. what have you done (bolt-ons aside) ?

I can get the pistons/rings for $300.
Im doing the head, TB and manifold work myself.
Injectors I can get for 70$ a pop.
EMS for 800$.

Yeah, I know it's not the engine of choice. But if I can make "close" to 200whp for the cost of a bolt-on turbo kit, I will have accomplished something.
Yeah, I was way off on the cost.. Im not sure what I was smoking that day.. lol.
