Default Anyone have the AJ Racing B-pipe for the EP

http://www.k-series.com/news_d...id=41

...considering getting one, side-stepping getting an entire exhaust = cheaper.

Impressions?

it's cool and all but the $80 I spent at the local muffler shop for a B-pipe resulted in: greater gains, lighter and left some $$ in my wallet for other mods.

300+ bucks for a midpipe is very expensive.

if it were Titanium, that would be a good price hahahah! But since its just stainless steel, I would and Have already just got my custom one done at a muffler shop.

For you two with the custom jobs, did you include a resonator?

If not, does the stock muffler keep it quiet?

You've heard my EP3. I did not get a resonator in my 2.25" B-pipe. Sounds good that way.

B18CXr & Todd00:

Did you find a B pipe exit flange that will bolt up to the stock rear section flange, or did you just have the new B-pipe welded to the stock rear section?

The muffler shop used the one off of the oem B-pipe on mine I believe. It actually has a decent opening. The oem piping, however, seriously leaves something to be considered. Down to 1.5" in the resonator!

If you are a very cheap bastard, hack the resonator off and put a straight pipe in where it was. At least you'll have 2" piping all the way back that way.

I've actually had a 2 1/4"ID Tsudo B pipe on my Type S installed with the stock rear section before. I didn't really like the way it sounded, and that had a small resonator on the B pipe. I can't imagine how it would sound without a resonator. Maybe this was only the case on the Type S? But it might be worth it, if i can find someone cheap/good locally to make me a B pipe, for the performance aspect of it. The only problem is i don't want to cut up the stock B pipe. That's why i asked about the flange.

Did you also reuse the stock 3 bolt collector flange?

So, can I assume you lost a bit of bottom end?

Hey guys I have an EP3 with boltons: AEM CAI, Comptech Race header, Comptech exhaust and Hondata Flash.

I am getting rid of my comptech exhaust and was wondering if you guys could recommend what size ID of a midpipe to get, considering I have a race header.

Also, you guys don't think that the stock muffler would pose problems restriction wise with the header, would it? What about with more mods (head/engine swap)?

as far as i can tell from that dyno chart, the stock exhaust flows pretty well (to only gain .4hp and .8lb tq upon removal) its pretty fair to assume that if you ran 2.5" as suggested u shouldn't have too many problems as far as restrictions though the resonator depends on what u would like (either straight through or resonated). i believe that the AJ Racing B-pipe is a direct stock replacement and imo would perform pretty well with your race header.

anybody correct me if i'm wrong
