GS-R vs RSX Type-S!!
Every Friday nights, our crew and their friends go out and race at night... tonight, the following cars were there:
RSX Type-S (stock)
My GS-R (I/E)
GT-S (CAI)
3.2 TL (stock)
older gen MR2 (I/H)
96 MR2 non-turbo
1996 240SX (I/H/E and more/ showcar)
3 Accords
I wanted to race the Type-S first, so we lined it up.
All my car has is an AEM CAI and TT Custom Exhaust. My friend's RSX-S is stock. We raced twice on a 1/4 strip. First time, we both got great launches. 1st gear, we were dead even, 2nd gear, I pulled on him slightly, 3rd gear, he pulled on me slightly. At the end of 3rd, he beat me by a bumper. He was very impressed with me car and he said, "DAMN! your car gots JUICE! Let me race you again!"
So we line 'em up again, we both get great launches again. Dead even in the first two gears, and in 3rd gear he pulled on me slightly again. At the end, he beat me by half a car. We both chirped in all three gears!
He's an excellent driver, and I'm a pretty good driver also. So you can say we are about equal. Our friends got these races on Video Tape, and I'll try to get it and post it up here.
I was happy I was that close with a Type-S. And the guy with the S was very impressed and gave me props...
After that, the Type-S ran against the GT-S, and the he beat the GT-S by 1 1/2 car length. Other races weren't that fun... but we got them all on tape! I'll try to get them and post it on up.
Comments and questions are welcomed...

i'd like to meet you and run you... kinda curious now... If you ran against type s and was dead even with him in 1st and then slightly pulled on him in 2nd and then he pulled on u in third and u were only a bumper behind him... Then that makes your car faster then mine... and I have a 96 JDM ITR motor in my ride and I my experience with a Type S left me at his fender teh whole time up until 4th... but i dont think the last part counts b/c we were approaching the end of the strip...
I raced my friends 95 GSR w/ i/h/e and the first run i had beated him by a approximately 3-4 car lengths this is from him... and 2nd time we ran we were dead even b/c i had a bad launch...
Well i would really like to meet up with u and run you so i can get an idea of how fast my car is...

We meet up on Fridays when our crew members don't get off work late. We usually meet up once a month? Sometimes twice. If you would like to join us some friday, then we'll gladly let you in. You can see me race the Type-S and see how close I am to it. He barely beats me.
After, you can race me and see how close you and I are, then you can race the Type-S. Just let me know. Alot of people who drove my car said that My car felt much stronger than other GS-R's. Maybe I got the strong motor from the factory. Whichever, I'll be glad to race anyone. It's all for fun, and it doesn't matter if we lose or win... You can e-mail me.
Oh.. and the guy who has the Type-S had a Type R previously, but it got stolen, so he chose to buy the Type-S. He misses his Type R so much. He said the Type R is much faster and better overall... Just some thoughts he shared with us...

What??? What?? Don't keep the suspense...TELL US!!!
I doubt it be an accurate comparison considering the cars a J-Spec....but then again what do I know?

Street racing is like the IRL (Indy Racing League)... no skill. What you guys call racing eventually turns deadly due to a lack of the same skill you supposedly have. Not only that, but you give "true" racers like myself a bad rep. in the eyes of the general public. If you can truly drive, join the SCCA or any other real sanctioned racing body and do it right.
I don't got time to join any Racing school or SCCA or whatever. I'm still a student in College, and I race for fun on weekends with my friend's. Not dangerous at all. We race on a deserted open road in the back. And we get better at launching and shifting everytime we race, so its kinda like a racing school...
besides, I don't want to do official racing like Nascar or whatever. Its just a hobby for me. Not my life.

I agree with Arctic. I am a married, high school special education teacher with a house and mortgage so racing isn't my life either. Poor excuse. Besides, I started racing my sophomore year in college 7 years ago. I wasn't very good when I started, but I didn't get discouraged and now I am nationally competitive (second and third at the two national-level events I attended in 2001). But in the end if you want to kill yourself go ahead, that'll be more air for me to breathe. Finally, for a college student your grammar is atrocious, check into an english comp. class next semester..... just doing my job.
oops. Sorry. I didn't mean to sound ignorant. How much does it cost to be in SCCA? It would be fun for me to go autocrossing with my car on weekends...
You don't need to be a member to autocross! All you need is $20 - $30 on average... about the same it would cost to go drag racing for the evening. I can say that most kids who were into the drag scene who tried autocrossing no longer drag race.
Consider this... six or eight runs on courses averaging .6 - .7 miles in length with at least 30 turns per course. You'll experience speeds from 15-70MPH many of which will be while turning. All you need are working seatbelts, as loaner helmets are readily available.
You'll like it, trust us all.

All I have is short ram intake. However I do hang with type-r's.
Anyway, I'm interested in doing Solo II in south Florida, and I was wondering where I can find a list of all the events scheduled, and requirements for your car. Will my springs and intake put me into a modified class where other peoples car's are heavily modified? Thanks
edit: Nevermind about finding out when the events are, I figured out http://www.scca.org all by my very lonesome
