You've got an LS already...just do an Ls/Vtec conversion, which should save you $$ over a full B16 swap if that's what your thinking of doing. B16's just lack so much TQ, you'd miss it if you swapped one in place of your LS.

I'm in the middle of doing this swap right now. Cheap solution to a blown b18c. I know the b16 has less torque but all this talk about how it's going to be slow, etc., is driving me nuts. It'll be on par with an Si, so what. I'm not even about the speed factor, I just need a car that runs. I'll let you know the impression later this week when the swap is finished.

I think the arguement isnt having a car that runs, its a car that run fast. I know i have basic bolt ons on my GSR and ran low 14s, i dont think a b16 has that same potential.

It's possible, but not worth the money. Some guy had one around here in his LS, it wasn't that great.

yes they will work,i have a b16 in my 97 ls i have changed the ecu from auto ls to obd2 p72 ecu the 4400 vtec setting is too low for the b16 but after 5000 it pulls very nice all the way to 8000,i have spec flywheel,6 puck clutch, cia, header, fpr, and i do run times like 9.569 to 9.702 with steelies. b16 was basically free to me.so i used it
