anyone dyno 2.2L yet?
i was over at tov.com and read that the new 2.2L dynos 15whp (215whp) more then the 2.0L (200+/-) has anyone found this to be true ? knowing honda, bigger displacement of course would make more hp for the car. (ex: nsx. 3.0 - 3.2) so if my calculations of 2.0L s2k drive train loss (17%) that would mean the s2k is making 260 hp fly. (17% loss = 215whp).
and i also read that with the rev down, the tq has TWO peaks instead of one. . i forget the link.. sorry.

There does seem to growing evidence that the F22 does in fact make more like 260-265 HP at the flywheel.
There are still some doubters, but I have a feeling that as more people get their cars dynoed we'll see this to be the case.
It makes perfect sense too. 11% more power from an engine that is 8% larger, has more agressive Fuel and Timing curves, revised cams, and lord only knows what else Honda changed.
Either car is still a blast to drive, and both have strengths and weaknesses.

i haven't heard any time slips for the car. i'd imagine it to hit the 13's "easier" instead of the regular burn clutch that the 2.0L had to do. (13.8 1/4mile)

The dynapacks showed roughly 245 peak whp on the 2004 model. The torque curve was fairly similar to the 2.0L S2000s only it had been moved up nearly 20ft/lbs across the entire RPM band.
They also did some 'road testing' where they had a rolling start from 30 and accelerated to 70. This helps to verify the dyno results. The 2004 S2000 was faster.
So in short, the new S2000 is actually making more horsepower than Honda claims. It is something in the area of 260-265 peak whp, not the claimed 240.

That's simply incredible. I loved reading every minute of that article. What a great thing to do for new S2k owners. Kinda like finding $100 bucks in your pants pocket.

is your 13.9 consistent? cause 13.8 i've "read" is hard without launching 7000+ rpm and that's without feathering much.
has anyone seen 1/4 times? 0-60? slalom speeds?

No one has done a full on road test of the 04 S2K yet. We are all waiting.
It's 0-60 time will probably suffer a bit since it takes another shift to get there (2nd is only good for 57), but other than that I expect the car to rock!

I know the original y2k JDM S2000 is 267bhp
Dont know what the new one will be, been thinking about getting one, I can get a 2001 model fully loaded with below 20,000 miles on closk for £15k UK sterling from auction after all importing costs.
How much do they sell for over there?
Hows it do on rear tires?
