i was tightening the longer bolt for the cam journal with a torque wrench when the threaded part of the bolt snapped and i can't seem to retrieve the snapped end of the bolt. need help. thank in adv
Ouch...that sucks. It doesn't go through the head, you'll have to drill a small hole in it and try to back it out. Just make sure not to drill into the side of the hole, heads are expensive.
The passage does not go thru to the block. It is closed at the bottom. Go to an auto parts store and buy an easy out. The parts guy will help you pick the right size and proper drill bit. Spray some of that thread loosener stuff down the hole. Drill a hole in the center of the broken bolt and then screw in the easy out. It screws in counter clockwise and when it grabs the broken bolt, keep turning and your broken bolt is out. Just did one of these. Buy the replacement bolt from Honda. Be sure to get the same length as the others.
