Did I buy the wrong subs? HELP
I recently bought 2 kicker comp vr10 that runs 125rms at 8ohms, to power that, i bought a rockford punch 501s that at 4ohms per channel runs 125x2. Did the guy who helped me out and i get this wrong or is this right?
the ohms are off, if there's 8ohms/sub and 4ohms/channel then you have the wrong solution... i don't remember ever seein a rockford amp that can supply 8ohms/channel so what you will have to do for your subs is find a one channel amp that provides about 250W RMS at 4ohms and use parallel wiring for both subs to that one channel
If both subs are 8 ohms, and the amp is 4 ohms bridge, then it will work. To make it all work, wire both subs in parallel and wire it in bridge mode to the amp
TO wire parallel, wire the positive of both subs to the positive bridge terminal on the amp and wire the negative of both subs to the negative bridge terminal on the amp
Usually the bridge mode is Left positive and Right negative
it is clearly labeled on the amp

i think it will sound good

hoooooly shiiiiaaat, somebody's first post actually corrected me! lol
ouprimetime is right, your 501s only has 2ohms per channel, not 4ohms per channel, so that will make it 4ohms bridged.. and actually the bridged connection is going to give out twice as much power for your amps (250W each), so the guy that helped you out did a perfect job. Enjoy the new system

yes. you'll see a bit over 250 each at most. But not to worry. you're listening to music so the subs should have no problems. just becareful with the volume and listen with your ears. its common sense to know when the subs are killing themselves

In other words, don't be dumbass by thinking super high volume = coolness yo
