Ok, the "H1" bulbs in my Prelude are goin out... This is the first time since I have owned the car... All four bulbs in my car have 2 prongs... every auto part store around here has H1 bulbs, but they only have a single prong... WTF!!! Did the guy that owned this before me decide to order some special bulbs for the hell of it and the car is only supposed to have single prong bulbs, or Is the car supposed to have 2 prong H1's and EVERY auto shop around here is not stocked properly and full of unhelpfull ignorant employees?

lol... excuse me for my aggrivated post, I have just driven 50 miles (no joke) around my area today to find new bulbs (I only have my left low-beam working... the rest are burnt out.) and have come up empty handed and aggitated...

There is an adapter that makes the single prong H1 into a double prong.

is that what you mean when you say one prong? If so, thats how it should be.

 

i remember i was in your same situation once. i yanked the bulb and found that even poop boys didnt have a matching h1. after a little closer examination i found that the bulb in the car comes with an adapter already on it. check your bulb you pulled and make sure there absolutly isnt an adapter before you go crazy like i did. as for it maybe beinga previous owner it wasnt. i bought the car new in 2001 so it was deffinatly stock.

 

ok, but the headlight harness plugs in my car have two female holes... does the plastic piece on the bulb pull off to take a new bulb??? I bet it does and now I feel dumb...lol... THX!

 

haha! yup thanx guys... wow I feel stupid... I have to drive back to get the new bulbs... OMG gas $ is burnin a hole in my pocket... Thx again... lol
