reset your ecu..?
i've been hearing alot of talk about how resetting your ecu is suppose to get you minimal gains....i'm not disagreeing about this but i am unclear about how to do it properly and for what reasons you would want to reset your ecu...what are some reasons why you would want to reset the ecu, and how do you do it properly..?
dissconted your battery, or pull the radio fuse under the hood.
it will not give yo gains alone, what it will do is not detune your current mods alowing you to use them, i think this only works for obd2 cars as i just did the work around last night.

I recommend dissconnecting the battery or pulling the ECU fuse. It has been said the radio clock fuse resets your ECU but I do not see how as it does not cut power to the ECU when you pull it.
Pulling the clock fuse cuts power to the ecu memory wire, not the ecu power wires.
It's been said many times that one should reset the ecu once a week/month, but actually the ecu recalibrates the Long Term Fuel Trim after around 20 minutes of driving.

taking the neg terminial is the simplest way, you have to press the brake couple times if you just pull the fuse out.
start the car and let it idle for five min or so.

No, the stock ecu will retard timing until the sound stops, and will only respond to knock below a certain rpm.
