So here's the deal. Some people I know opened up a studio in south hill. Yes Puyallup. That studio B3 (most the VIP models are shot there)

A section of the studio is big enough for a car.

So i'm thinking about possibly booking a 4 hour session.

4 hours is a lot of time to take pictures. As long as your ready and prepped to go, cus if your not, screw off.

This is what I'm proposing.

4-5 cars, 4-5 models.
Mix and match up the cars and models. That gives us roughly around 45 minutes per car.

The studio is 80 bucks, plus any deposits and fee's. Then rental of the lighting gear.

I'm thinking this shouldn't be more than 200 bucks total. If everyone helped pitch in. We could make this a really good shoot. Everyone will have some magazine quality shots of their cars, the models will have good shots for their portfolios and images to sell at shows.

I'd be more than happy to shoot their cars, I'd love for kyle and jonas to come down. But I don't think thats their style.

Thats cool. Do you need a confirmation before you set a date or do you plan on setting a date then confirming people? Hard to schedule anything to far in the future but I am definatly interested. I'm assuming this would be a weekend deal and mid day so I can drive up and back home at a decent time.

 

Ya, I'm gonna try and gather who's interested, it'll take a few weeks for that. Especially any of the models I know that want to shoot. (i know a few)

So its just a matter of getting everyone interested and going from there, setting enough time for people to get days off or whatever...weekend would be ideal.

 

So we're looking at $200 total split between 5 or so or do the models have to pay too??? If we can make it after the first week of Feb. I can probably just stay up there for the weekend. I think it would be cool to have some pro pics of my car with models and such.

I don't know if i'll have the models pay, I'm more sure not payin ****. Jon from Importmix has already offered to find models if I use the pics for Imix. we'll see

 

I think this sounds like a really good deal, if I was confident in the studio - I would try to do this myself. In studio car shots are always a part of professional car photography.... so as long as it's done properly.

Thanks for the info though, i've always wanted to know how much it costs to use a studio to shoot a car. Although i'd have absolutely no frigg'n idea how to use the lighting equipment, both artistically and in terms of operation

Would love to just go and watch a pro do it properly one day though

 

I know that this is HondaTech n all, but are you only looking for Honda's and Acura's? My bro might want his car shot but it's not a Honda or Acura so let me know...
