Hey guys, got a question for you all.

Does anyone know how an exhuast would sound if I cut off the tip of the Trust exhuast and welded on a stock integra tip? (this is a cat back exhuast) Basically, I want to do this for 2 reasons. 1, stock/stealth look and 2, hoping it'll be quieter.

Any comments?

PS: I would paint the polished Trust muffler flat black as well.

Well the stock 94-97 Integra muffler tip bolts over the tailpipe. If the stock tip is smaller than the Trust muffler outlet, I wouldn't do it because it will be a bottleneck as the exhaust gases try to escape.

 

I think it will sound the same because it is still the stock exhaust

That's a good point.

However I gotta take another look. Because the tip is on the exit side of the muffler. So it might not be 2.25" or whatever the piping is on the b-pipe side.

The main thing is to the car a "stock" look and noise level.

Wonder if anyone's ever done something like this before. Or I can just sell my Trust exhuast (how much is it worth?) and get me an JDM ITR muffler. But that might not be woth the effort.

 

why dont u just get a type R tip and bolt it on?? looks nice IMO
