Weld in O2/Oxygen nut bung for sensor on the cat/catalytic/test pipe
Sorry for the long title, for search purposes.
I bought a cat and it has no bung for the o2 sensor. I've been searching on the web for bugs, and they basically look like regular nuts. I'm just gonna go to the hard ware store and search for one.
I just want to make sure that i have the correct information. From searching, it looks like the nut i will need is a M18x1.5 and hopefully it will be stainless steel so i can weld it on.
I also have another question, if i were to ever get my car dyno tuned with a wideband O2 sensor, i should have two bungs, one for the ecu and one for the the wideband.
Just let me know if i got this information correct.

You can tune on the dyno using the dyno's 02 hookup if youd like.
Or if your tuner prefers using an in-car display with a wideband sensor, he can just hook his WB sensor up to your stock sensors bung, no problem. You wont need 2 bungs.
This is how it works on my 95 GSR which doesnt throw a code that way, for OBD2, I would assume you need a 3rd bung for the WB sensor.

i had the same problem. I just took it to my local muffer shop, but they just ended up welding it to the beginning of my b-pipe for $25. No CEL and i passed smog. And now i just recently put on a test pipe, with the 2nd 02 censor still in the b-pipe, and for some strange reason it doesn't throw any codes. Weird?
thanks for the reply. Looks like i'm just gonna take it too a muffler shop.
THose nuts are expensive, 6 to 15 bucks on various sites. plus shipping.
and it looks like i'm just gonna get one bung welding on for now.
