Best way to get to low 13's
Hey i just got a 93 gs and i wanna run mid-low 13s. The car has to be reliable. Its in great shape now and has 80k on it. What would it take to get an lsvtec to run thos times? Or is turbo the better way? I wanna try and do it for 2 -3 grand is this possible?
I must agree with the last post, the ls engine is a very strong contender for a turbo because of the stock compression ratio. I would be careful how much boost you push on stock internals but you can easily run a low boost psi when on the street and turn it up when at the track.
lsd
slicks to get off the line with little spin as possible (60fts are important)
turbo kit (if your staying street legal make sure the kit is legal in the state you live in, cali especially.)

turbo ... don't be scared of boost .. it can also be your friend

I would say Ls/Vtec like I did to my LS motor, but if your goal is $2-3k max and 13's you should just turbo it. NOS is great, but it's not something you constantly want to be making your motor breathe if it's your daily driver. Put together a custom turbo kit and with the right tires you just might hit 13's...and be within your budget.
I say go turbo
Nos will seem cheaper at first but I look at it as more of away to lease power, $500 nos kit compared to $2500 turbo kit, 10lb bottle fills get expensive after a while
50 fills @ $30 is $1500
...................100 fills $3000
Then the worst part is when its all said and done all you have to sell is a used Nos kit $350, what about all that you invested? Gone, just like the turbo car that just passed yo because you ran out of Nos. My biggest complaint about Nos was that my car was only fast at the touch of a button
Go turbo, do it right, do some research, and spend your 3k wisely.

Ok so im proly goin to go turbo from what ive heard. How much building am i into for the motor? Def. forged pistons and rods but do i need to sleeve? How big of a turbo will i need and what cr are most ppl using?

building the motor is the right way of doing it but its going to be way over your price limit.
pistons, rods, and sleevers are already about 1500 and another 3,000 for a turbo kit

Well ****...you're stuck. You either have to turbo your motor as-is and hope nothing blows, or build a good all-motor car and don't spend money on a turbo. Honda Tuning Mag is running an article on how to run 13's with $10,000 including cost of the car (it's a Teg too). Take a look at that and it'll give you some idea of what you need to do. I spent only about $3500 on my Ls/Vtec including labor and a new clutch and I'm hoping for 13's once I hook up with a pair of slicks. Figure if you spend $2500 on a Ls/Vtec build up and then another $500 on a 50 shot of NOS, you'll hit 13's no problem. When the bottle's empty you'll still have a 14-sec motor left over. You also have to factor in reliability...will this be your daily driver? There's a ton of help here on Honda-Tech forums, and don't be afraid to you use the Search button to find hints and tips. Have fun
Low 13's in an integra should start off by practicing your driving that is more important than a turbo or nitrous(seriously you'll be suprised when you do your motor swap, turbo kit and nitrous and cannot run better than a 13.9 because you can't drive at the track)
Nitrous is the likely to be the most cost effective way to see a low 13, just do your homework and make sure it is properly tuned, tuning is key to keeping a nitrous breathing motor running.
All motor is another nice way to get there but that costs money and the tegs are kinda heavy, forced induction is good too just tune the damn car!!!

no kidding. My friend put about 700 bux into his NOS plate kit and few extra mods and damn that ****** is quick when he sprays. Definatly in the low 13s.

I have a 92 GS B18A1, 5-spd. I have a T3 42/48 A/R, all stainless polished 304 downpipe and manifold, braided steel lines with Earl's fittings, smic off of 90 Talon (plan to mount where battery and airbox used to be and create ram air system), 12:1 FMU, Missing Link, 390 cc injectors, Apex'i S-AFC, Tial Deltagate (Anyone have one for me?), racing cat, MAYBE Hondata S200b (if I can find a used one, can't afford the $500 price tag right now). Already I have a Mugen chip, Neuspeed SS, OBX exhaust, and Type R underdrive pulley. I've been told that I should be expecting about 250-275 HP at 7 to 9 psi. What do you think this should net me in 1/4 mi times?
