Default Lightweight seats

I know some people in here have non-adustable racing seats...

How is the comfort for day to day driving?
Is it horrible not being able to recline the seat? Are the seats too "upright"?

Right now Im considering the:

Corbeau Clubman: 13.5 LBS

Corbeau Forza: 16 LBS

Sparco Sprint: 17 LBS

Sparco Speed: 16.5 LBS

The Clubman is the lightest..and the retail price is the lowest...but it also looks the most uncomfortable to sit in and get in/out of. The sides are HUGE!
Ive sat in the Sparco Sprint down at Versus..and it seems pretty nice...except lower back support semed to be lacking.

One last thing...how much did you guys (that have these seats) pay for the mand from where?

Whats wrong with the adjustable ones? Ill sacrifice weight to be comfortable and have a good back in the future.

Im going for weight saving here. The adjustable aftermarket seats...such as the Recaro SRD, Sparco Torino and Corbeau Traga RS all weigh at least over 30 LBS.
I think think the Traga RS is the lighest at 30 LBS while the Torino is 39 LBS!

The main reason I wanna get new seats is to save weight...but in addition have better support then stock Civic seats (which suck) and the race seats look much nicer IMO.

all I know is that you HAVE to sit in some seats before you drop the loot. I want some sparcos, but i'll be damned if i am gonna loose $700 a pop with out a test drive

Oh yes..thast the other up side to the non-adjustable seats.
In addition to being half the weight of adjustable..they also cost 1/2 as much or less. All those seats in the pictures are less then $250 each.

To my experience go for Recaro SPG or Pole Position, 2.5kg and 4.0kg the lightest and more "comfortabel" ones out there

I've been in either the Sparco Evo or Rev seat (they look alike and I can't remember exactly which one it was) and it was pretty comfortable. Damn did it hold me in! A lil pain in the **** to get out of (getting in's easy, just plop my fatass down). Sorry no info on the ones you listed.

That's funny. 30 lbs of (sprung) weight savings. On a daily driver...

My seat is 20 lbs and my cage probably weighs in around 170 lbs.

I did, however, lighten up the stock wheels by sliding on the passenger side ones for a few yards on asphalt.

If you don't fit so great, you can always buy lumbar cushions and whatnot to compensate.

I have MOMO 1000 Lakes as a daily driver seats (for about 2 weeks now). It feels SOOOO much better than crappy ITR seats. You'd be surprise how poor ITR seats are designed. Damn, even an EF Si seats are better than the ITR seats.

Ok, back to MOMO's. I love how they hugs me throughout any tight and high speed turns. I bolted it with Mugen rail so it seats about 1-2" lower than the stock seats, so even more plus (especially when wearing a helmet in autoX). It's almost like getting HID lights... once you have it in, you ain't going back to stock seat... period.

The only bad thing that I can think of is how it's nearly impossible to get out if you parked too close to the car next to you. But, just park your car far away from everyone.

Cliff notes:
Adv.1. awesome side support
2. sits lower
3. weighs less

Disadv. 1. hard to get out if you're in a tight parking spot.

Mmmm, carbon fiber

These are the "Corsa" seats, made by Vision. I'm waiting on a pair now. They should be here within 3-4 weeks...I'll be sure to post a review when they arrive.

The problem with those seats are that you'll have to use harnesses. Stock seatbelts won't work

And if you've got the harnasses strapped in like they should be, sometimes reaching the further buttons on the radio can be a chore. My buddy did that for awhile, gave up on it.

DONT EVER USE A HARNESS WITHOUT PROPER ROLL OVER PROTECTION!!

You will not be able to get out of the way (of the roof).

NOT TRUE. That's why I got Mugen seat rails and that's why I got the MOMO seat after I KNEW that the seat would bolt on to Mugen seat rails. Mugen seat rails allow you to retain the stock belt clip. I DO NOT use harness... as that would be stupid w/o a roll bar. 3-pt seat belt works just find with the seats.

AFAIK, mugen seat rail is one of the few that allows for stock seat belt buckle to attach... just like the OEM seat rails.

Just wanted to throw that out there in general. Seemed appropriate, with the reach the radio (and using it for daily driving) comment.
