Anyone have Pulley dyno's? Could use advice...
I'm looking into buying some AEM or UO pulleys and was wondering what gains I can expect for a basically stock ITR.
I'd be greatful for any suggestions on with ones to buy... or even suggestions/experiences why to get them or not to get them at all.
thanks all,
JP

A friend of mine has a B18C5 in a 98 Civic EX coupe. He put an UO crank pulley on it and he gained a Dyno proven 6/10ths of 1hp. That is .6hp gain!!
Take off you power steering belt and be glad for the 3-6 whp difference that took you twenty minutes to acheive. Then marvel at the lovely feedback you when blasting out of a corner at WOT. Seriously though, this will give more power than light weight pulleys with an added bonus of superior steering feedback. I'm pretty sure that pulleys would add alsmost nothing and only achieve to slightly improve engine response, just like lightening anything that has to do with the rotating assembly (flywheel, wheels, etc.)
Actually, the pulleys give you a slight increase in Hp, my own personal ***-o-dyno can prove it.... The Hp gain is mostly noticable in the top end tho....
Yes, I know this because I have the AEM pulleys on my LS, they were only my second upgrade after a CAI which is prolly $ for $ the best bolt-on..... (bolt-on S/C doesn't count, heh heh)
I like still having power steering (slightly less with the pulleys, you WILL notice a difference in steering feel), I wouldn't remove the P/S pulley altogether, but that's just me.... I like the fact that I can tell the diff between my INTEGRA and an old bare bones civic....

I did notice a difference in the power steering with the pulleys. That's the only reason I got them. I've been very happy with them in that respect. I wasnt' expecting any power increase. I have the AEM set. I didn't see the point of pulling off the crank pulley for stiffer steering.

I have AEM as well and the only reason I have them is because they were a gift.
Cam gears all depend on how you tune them. I think there are better gears to get than the AEM ones. They scare me with only three set screws and the capability to adjust the timing so far. That's just asking for trouble. I'd probably go with some Toda gears instead.
I got 6 whp gain with UR crank pulley on my old GSR and 3-4 on my ITR. I'd say it's very much worth it considering it's low cost and no tuning required for it. Power gain is pretty linear across the board so you'll probably have a very hard time telling the difference. It's there on the dyno though.
Got like 3/4 of a hp peak and 1-2 wheel torque from the AEM tru time on my R with i/h/e. Waste of money to me ........
