Don't you think this could be a strange deal with alot of the products they make are the same - how will this effect the market. Do you think prices will be changing - or will they keep it completly seperate[QUOTE=Rtype16

Interesting viewpoint... but in my opinion, the Contreras brothers made a good move since I believe DC Sports only strong products are its Headers. the Intake market is so saturated that it was slowly losing its market share. AEM will get stronger in the Intake market but will still keep the prices the same as the High End Intake brand of the industry.

Didn't Microsoft do this sort of thing, buy out the competition. I wonder if we will see more of this?
BTW I am not saying there is anything wrong with this, more importantly though they get more exhaust product market share out of the deal. I think it just means good things for the consumer. AEM is a good company.

At least the deal was between AEM and DC Sports, not some other cheesball company or investor that is not even related to the scene buying out a great company. Keepin it in the family i guess.
I heard about this a few weeks ago. DC has been hurtin for a while. They have a huge building about a block away from us and only like 5-6 employees from what I`m told. 2001-up Civics did them dirty. They just are not enthusiast cars and that hurts when you only make Honda products (at least 2 years ago).

then what's the point of buying dc? why not manufacture they're own line of headers from the ground up, if they're gonna redesign the dc headers anyway?

because DC has the tooling and the knowledge, not to mention, a "proven" name in the header industry. Coupled that with the fact they've doing it for years...

Yea that makes since - intakes are or can be a dime a dozen, DC bros made a huge name and a great product for a long time, even longer than most of us know. The name DC will go down in the history books along with AEM. Two powerhouses join we wish them well.

well maybe i shouldnt say this yet, but what the heck
DC headers are gonna be cheaper than b4 since shop discounts are gonna be based off jobber. From calculations, is gonna be a 20-30 dollar drop from before but AEM will only allow for retail sales to be no lower than 10% off jobber. So hopefully this might help the market a lil bit

From a shop owners point of view that what ewe want from our vendors - keep track of the retail shops and that WOULD help the market. Maybe they could also attack the "back door" problem
