Need lug nut help for OEM wheels and H&R 5mm spacers, autocross/track use...
Here's my situation. I'm running H&R 5mm wheel spacers on my fronts to make more room for the 225/50 Kumhos. I am not using the longer wheel studs, just the spacers, and I would like to get a set of open ended lug nuts so that I can verify that I'm getting the bite that I need at full torque. I have three sets of OEM wheels, and I don't anticipate using anything else in the future. The OEM lug nuts have a more rounded taper than many of the other nuts I've seen for aftermarket wheels. The Kyokugen nuts, for example, look totally different, and the Volk/Mugen, etc. aren't open ended. The only ones I've found are Spoon ($7 ea., ouch!) that are specifically rounded for OEM S2000 and other honda wheels. Do I need something like that, or no? Who else makes rounded (not sure of the proper term) nuts made for OEM honda wheels that are open ended? I tried the search, but I only found advice for color matching
Thanks for any help!

Actually the Newer Spoon Lug nuts are all Closed end, the old style were open end.
You can try a local autoparts store to get some of those chrome open ended lug nuts or if your really stuck, drill the Closed end into an open end lug, All you need is one to see how much tread its grabbing

i use the H&R 5 mm in my delsol and civic to clear my 14" wheels (enkei and hx). i counted the threads, about 6.5 turns, stock studs. FWIW i've road raced many times and autox with it too. on street all season tires and R compound tires. no problems.

Thanks for the input, guys. One of the reasons I'm interested in the open ended lug nuts is that I may actually swap out the bolts after all. I know that I should be safe running the spacers with the OEM bolts, but since the longer studs already come with the spacers, it's just a matter of changing them out. Since new rotors may be in the mix too, it's really not a big deal. I just need the nuts. Anyone else have a suggestion?
Whatever u do, don't run Honda wheels (conical contact) with taper contact nuts. It might be ok for a while, but it is ghetto and it is a risk. But u prolly already knew that.

I still don't know of any open ended nuts that work with OEM honda wheels. Surely someone knows who makes them...
