Tire / Wheel Bearing Noise
I have a 1985 Honda Accord LX and I have been having some issues with a weird noise and I am not sure what the culprit is. The noise started as a roaring noise, mostly right around 50 mph. Then, it began to have a high pitched whine around the same speed also. It has evolved to the point where it makes a growling sort of noise at low speeds, a high pitched whine starting around 35 mph until around 50 mph where it gets too high pitched that you can't hear it. At speeds higher than 60 or so it seems to smooth out a bit and doesn't make quite the amount of noise that it does at lower speeds. The noise seems to be coming from the driver's side rear wheel.
For some background on the car, I recently had all tires replaced and the car was aligned. When the new tires were put on the car it drove very well, almost no tire noise and tracked straight. I am not sure if it is a wheel bearing, a tire wearing weird or possibly a brake issue. I sort of doubt it is the tire causing the problem since they are 80,000 mile tires and they have around 3000 miles on them. Any help is appreciated, my garage is unusable since we are remodeling our house and I don't feel like working on it in 15 degree weather. Thanks!
