Default Mugen/Spoon Thermostats

Anybody have one of these? Does your temperature guage needle read any lower than stock (a little left of the center mark) during everyday daily driving?

I was thinking about getting one of these and was wondering if it's worth the money.

Yes, they do work, I have the Mugen and the gauge never see's the half way mark. Before you spend the money on a Mugen or Spoon you can use any low temp thermostat from your local import autoparts store.

Yes it does run cooler. It functions to increase the cooling capacity of the system by increasing the pressure that it runs at. If you live in a hot climate or use your car for extended high rpm use - it is a good idea.

When I'm at the track I also run my heater on full blast.

yes it works! i have the spoon.
i think it is even better when you mate it with the spoon thermoswitch which turns on yor fan at lower temp. i dont have the thermoswitch yet, still waiting for it to arrive

I had the mugen and always shifted my R in V tec. The gauge never hit the center. Good idea.

Mine is still stock, and for those that know me i run the **** out of the car. My temp gauge has never been to the half way mark since i have owned the car. This is not to say that i feel as though they dont work.

VA: Install a real temp gauge and see just how accurate the stock temp gauge is

It really doesn't matter if the gauge is different from before and after cause the 3-position stock honda guage sucks ***. No.. it's not even that good.

I was wondering more about the thermoswitch myself....the one that turns on the fans earlier...anyone have any experience with this specifically? don't know if mugen makes one, but I have seen the Spoon.

temp. gauges used to be a little more accurate..but it frightened people to see the temp fluctuate..so now it either cold, normal, or hot..get a good temp gauge to see how well your cooling upgrades are doing..

I have the mugen and it does lower the temp but I feel like when I turn on the
heater (I know the stock guage is not really accurate) the guage reads just above
1/4 and I think the computer thinks the engine is running cold and feeds it more
fuel in turn I use alot more gas

I have a Mugen Thermostat and Radiator Cap. Works great! Good idea to get one if you run you car on the track.
