Default What do most of you spend on turbocharging your car?

I know this question depends on how much power is wanted and what your doing, but I'm just looking for an average. You know, just like boosting 5 - 10 psi on stock internals using a kit or self made kit, injectors computer tuning, a decent setup. Nothing too crazy though...

thanks!

$17, but seriously, figure turbo related parts with hondata/injectors you can expect to pay anywhere from 1500-5000 just depends.

In parts you can look at anything from like 2500-5000 just depends really. If you are not planning on going huge and want all new parts with some fuel work i would say around 3000 will get you a nice kit, plus tuning and hondata or a standalone setup. so like 4000 actually, then you need gauges, BC and TT

way more than i should have. learn what you want...piece the kit together and do it right the FIRST time.

meaning get hondata/uberdata/ems something standalone...

I lost track after $2500 and only 90% on parts (no install, nor piping yet). I dont really want to think of it too much cuz it pisses me off. I'd like to do it right the first time. Decent parts only, no bullshit stuff. Everything is NEW, nuthin' used. I cant risk to blow this JDM ITR motor too much. I still have a few parts left to order. Some companies are just so slow these days......
I wont put the price, but these are the parts I have or enroute:
-Garrett T3T04e 57t .63 A/R
-SFP race manifold
-Tial race BOV
-Tial 38mm WG (7.25 psi spring)
-Todd's 31x10x2.6 FMIC
-60mm electronic GReddy gauges (A/F ratio, EGT, Boost) peak and hold
-52mm mechanical GReddy gauges (oil pressure, fuel pressure)
-GReddy turbo timer
-Golden Eagle VTEC oil supply plate (will use for turbo supply line and oil pressure gauge)
-more small stuff that really adds up, like flanges etc
-P28 ECU reprogrammed for Hondata piggy back
-OBD2a to OBD1 harness
-RC 550cc saturated
-OBD1 injector clips
-Walbro 255 LPH in-intank

Still need:
-3 inch DP
-Hondata S200 with boost
-cometic or inline-pro head gasket
-block guard
-3'' E-cut

Drag 3 kit: $2700
Tial WG: $150
Guages: $350
440 injectors: $300
AEM fuel rail: $125
Walbo 255HP fuel pump: $100
Hondata s200b: $425
Tuning: $250
Exhaust: $500
Misc: $500

Theres alot of other stuff I have probably forgotten, but that is just a general idea of a good working turbo setup.

The main thing is to shop for deals, and even though you might find a lower price somewhere, make sure the person/company is reputable. There are alot of scammers in this business, and it is very unfortunate.

Good places I can recommend are importparts, lightningmotorsports, auto-logic, optauto, wired speedlab, and many others.

Good luck and make sure to research and ask questions. Know what you are getting and who you are dealing with before you commit to giving them your money.

I think I may have went a little to far. LS/VTEC built top-to-bottom. Inside-and-out. I also plead the 5th on how much I've spent.

Forgot to mention, when buying parts for your setup, beware. Their are crooks everywhere you turn, willing to take you for your money. However, on a positive note, I've met some of the coolest people on H-T. Try to establish rapport with people you buy from.

don't be suprised to end up with 5-7K on everything.. including exhaust, fabrication, fuel/ecu, radiator fans and misc. parts. then add money to rebuilt the motor.
