Default URGENT!

I just installed my H&R Sports with my KYB AGX shocks on my 2000 Si and I also installed new OEM bumpstops. MY question is on the rear should the bumpstop be sitting on the top of the shock, with none of the metal rod showing at all?

the oem bump stop is completely covering the metal shock rod, so there is none of the rod showing, the bumpstop seems to be butting up against the top of the shock housing.

H&R specifically said DO NOT CUT THE BUMPSTOP! I even called them and they said don't cut it unless they are H&R RACE SPRINGS! They also said that the way I did it was probably correct!

Here is a pic:

Well I was going to but I didn't want to screw anyhting up! But I know I did everyhting correct because both sides are the same now!

What should I look for in the ride quality, really harsh ride, noises?

Fut the bump stop or better yet go to a shop and buy some after market bushings for your ride. get the whole set, they should sell some short bump stops as well. I cut mine so I dont know if they sell them or not.

Will do, I plan on doing the front's tommorrow after work and then I will get some pics of them on my car. I will wait a few days before I try them on the twisties though just to get them to "break in". But so far so good IMO!

i have AGX's on my SI except i have Ground Control coilovers and im pretty sure i dont have those bump stops anymore, IMO dont worry too much about them but try to put something in there. I say go ahead and cut the stock ones just to have something there, i dont believe ive ever bottomed the rear out with the AGX on there and I slammed the back pretty good over the summer.

The kyb's come with shorter bump stops in the front I believe...Use them, and leave the rears stock (or vice versa, if its the rears that the kyb includes the stops)

Its not going to hurt anything if they are too tall, the worst that will happen is you'll bottom out on them. If that happens you know they are too tall and need to be trimmed.

so what should I do? I mean why would they contradict one another? If so how much should I cut off? I don't remember reading anyhting on the AGX instructions.

This paritcularly strange since I have KYB AGX shocks and the rears came with their own nonremoveable bumpstops.

ok so it was the rears...Like I said it was either the fronts or the rears that came with the stops. It was 3 years ago that I did my install...

If I were you I would use the stops that came with the kyb's and cut about 1/4 off the stock ones and call it a day..

Well I don't have the ones that came with the AGX's! I have the OEM's that I cut in half and a new set of full length OEM's.

Something is wrong the ride got terrible and it makes horrible noise. What should I do, put the half bumpstops on? Anyone with this setup what did you do? (AGX+H&R Sport). I tied to contact KYB but havn't got a response yet!

This is pissing me off what should I do?

Does it kind of rattle once the car starts moving? You probably didn't get the top bushings and washers on correctly or tight enough.

As far as the bump stops if thats the height the car is going to sit at (assuming the upper bushings are in correctly) then you need to cut those in half. I have done tons of aftermarket suspensions on hondas and I guarentee that you need to leave some free travel for the shock by trimming the stop. rideing on bumpstops is the hot setup for when you cut your springs on stock shocks, don't you wish you just did that
