my beater is a 90 civic hatch,once in a while the key will get stuck in the ignition after the car is in park and the car is turned off..(yes my beater is an auto i dont like driving stick all the time))i have to sit there and wiggle,push it in a lil at a time ,all kinds of things to get it out....also once in a blue the car will not shift outta park.. once i start it,i have to put the spare key into the shift lock thing to get it outta park...both problems are intermitent(sp) can anyone shed a lil light on this problem and point me in the right direction on diagnosing the problem and fixing it ...much appreciated...

 

Sounds to me like the brake switch or the shift lock solenoid.
