Anyone have experience reusing clutch pressure plates?
I have Clutchmasters Stage 4 pressure plate and want to reuse it with a CM stage 3 disc. CM recommends I send the PP out to them so they can check it out and possibly regrind the PP surface to use with a stage 3 disc. I dont want to go through the down time (probably 6 to 8 weeks), so can i skip it and put it all together or maybe even take it somewhere local? Any help is appreciated.
depending on the mileage, if your clutch petal still has plenty of spring to it, and how the pp looks cosmetically, I would feel ok about reusing it. Given that it has relatively decent mileage, looks good, and you have a springy clutch pedal.
A year and a half old and it still feels springy. I guess im going to take it off, see what it looks like and then decide. Another question if i decide to reuse it, should the PP be resurfaced and can it be done at a place that does flywheels too?
