This damn swap is annoying the hell out of me !!
I have all the harness unplugged, but all I need to do is take the axles out and that damn shift linkage pin. I have taken axles out before, and they were a piece of cake. I'm trying to get axles out of a b18c1, but the are not moving at all. Was I supposed to drain the tranny fluid before they come out? I dont think that is what's stopping them from coming out, but I am up for any advice I can get. And that shiflinkage pin is a pain in my ***. I tried using a punch set, that didnt work, any other suggestions on how to get that out? I think I'm just going to leave the linkage on when I do pull the motor out. Please HELP!!
Yea, those 2 things are big pains when pulling the motor. Both have taken me hours and hours before I got it perfected.
For the shift linkage pin, keep using the punch and hammer. Make sure the punch isn't too small to fit in the hole of the pin and isn't too big that its hitting the linkage. The key I found was jack the car up really high so you have a lot of room to work. You can get some really big swings on the hammer then and it eventually comes out.
For the axles, the passenger side I usually stick a big *** screwdriver or pry bar between the tranny and CV joint. It's like a 1/4" opening about that you can stick something in there. Then just keep prying it back and forth and it eventually comes out. On the driver side you can do the same thing, but something the intermediate shaft moves as you pry. In this case, just pull the intermediate shaft and axle out in one connected piece. Take off the 3 bolts that hold on the intermediate shaft bracket and that bitch just pulls out of the tranny. There isn't a C-clip on that end.
I haven't proofread everything but i think it all makes sense. If you got any questions gimme a PM. Good luck.

for your shift linkage problem before you go back to hammering on the thing go tothe auto parts store and get a can of pb blaster or power lube these are rust penatraters. and should held very much . its worked for me on several swaps. as for your axels the other guys are dead on get yourself a large ply bar and go to work that is about your only option.
yeah...and I would think it would be a good idea to drain the tranny before you pull those axles. I imagie you will get covered in fluid if you don't.
Ok, I got the passenger side axle out just now with a crowbar. The drivers side axle is a differents story. Should I just remove the axle and the intermediate shaft in one piece? Also for the shiflinkage pin, If I cant get it out, is it ok to take the motor out with the shiftlinkage still connected? Thanks guys!!
oh yeah, I drained the tranny fluid too

Yeah, I could not get that damn pin out either and did both of my swaps with the linkage still attached to the trans. It's not big deal. Are you going though the top of the engine bay with the motor or out the bottom? Both times I went though the botom so the linkage never got in the way. If you are going thought the top you might have some troubles getting the motor out of the enigine bay.

removing the driver's side axle with the mid-shaft attatched is the easiest way...un bolt the mid-shaft from the block, then pry it out from the tranny using the crowbar...
as for the shift linkage pin...use something to tap it out with...perhaps another bolt, drill bit......anything...good luck!

Yeah, I think I'm going to remove the drivers side axle with the mid shaft attached to it. I am probably going to keep the shift linkage pin in and take the motor out with the shiftlinkage still attached. Thanks for all the help guys.

Jack up the car more for more leverage and beat the **** outta that thing! It will work. You just need a punch that fits directly over the pin. It's not gonna be much easier when the tranny is out. You still have to pound the **** out of it.
