? About my jdm d15b sohc vtec in 1996 u.s. spec sohc vtec civic
i had a JDM d15b swapped into my US spec 96 civic ex coupe,i have had a check engine light ever since i put this swap in,i was told this was the result of the u.s. spec engine having an extra sensor with no where to plug into on the JDM engine.I swapped nothing but the motor itself(kept the D16y8 tranny, ecu, axles). So my question is,what can i do about the extra sensor so ican get rid of the check engine light?Do I need the JDM spec ECU?also..id like more info on the D15b engine..it is not a common swap.for example..what years was it made, what car did it come out of..i was told it was the Jap version of the D16y8
the cel you're gettin is probably the crank angle sensor from the d16y8 and maybe some others (idk)
maybe if you plug the clip it ...it might go away, couldnt be harmful since you're not even using it right now
if i were you..id check what code it is first and start from there
