Default Anyone hear of this company regarding Engine purchase? TIA

The website is:

http://www.total-boost.com

It seems very nicely done, with convincing info. Pricing is not the lowest, but reasonable nonetheless. I am planning to get a JDM SiR-II for my 93 Civic Cx, and in the process to look for a good company.

On their User-Submitted Tips and Facts someone mentioned the mounts and axles cannot be used for the swap, is this true? Last couple times I've asked, I was told the axles/mounts from the JDM engine should bolt in just fine?!

Thanks for any info...really need to fix up my car b/c the little engine I have is eating ALOT of motor oil, and I don't want to spend too much cash fixing that engine.

Great guys so I've heard. I have not dealt with them personally, but I heard they have quality engines and the owner is a great guy. He is a member on these boards under the name "total boost" I believe. I would trust them with my business

Thank you for the info. Their website sure have nice info, such as the pdf on Engine Swap.

I do wonder though about the mounts/axles on the JDM engine. Anyone who have their JDM engines can confirm? I asked about 5-6 people and they all told me before it's a direct swap, minus the couple rewiring (on VTEC and Knock sensor).

Again, thank you for the info and if anyone else can chime in I'd be greatly appreciated.

If you get the b16 from a 96+ civic, then you will not be able to use the mounts in your car. You can use mounts from a 94+ teg with the teg rear mount bracket. It is pretty straight forward though.

Since I am looking for JDM engine, I plan on getting the SiRII, which will be the 92-95 Civic (or so I was told the USDM Del Sol VTEC 94-95). Back then when I was researching, people I asked replied that the SiRII or 94-95 Del Sol VTEC will bolt right in, IF it comes with the original mounts and axles. Since my car is 93 Cx, I was told that she's not VTEC pre-wired, and so I will need just couple rewiring, which is no big deal. For the SiRII, I will have to reuse the Cx wiring harness and use just the extra ones from the JDM wiring harness. For P/S setup, I was told gettin the engine with the B16 pump and mount will work. Although retaining the A/C I will have to buy the Del Sol bracket (P34?)

I was kinda sure what I will need, until now...that's why I want to make sure the mounts and axles including in the package will work (told by HMO that it will too).

Thanks again!

i have been thinking about purchasing a engine from total boost as well and they seem to be a very legit company and the owner is trying very hard to make sure his customers are very satisfied and get a good motor. the prices are a bit higher but i think the extra $100 or whatever is worth it when your motor starts up and isnt knocking like a bitch. i think i will do business with him.

Well I was gonna purchased my engine through HMO, and when I called I believed the owner (Steve?) told me something that I wasn't too comfortable. I asked him on the mileage, and he said low. Then he said low but he cannot tell me how low until I paid and right before the shipment. Then I asked how much shipping is, and he said he'll know when he ships. So it kind of throw me off a bit. The good thing though is that they are still popular and there is LSD option. Again, according the HMO, it's a direct swap so I am confused now.

Total Boost has the lower price vs HMO, if it includes everything HMO offers that is. I guess I should call them up and see what is going on.

Thanks for your info

Thanks for the link, but judging from the link below I think I will do more research before calling. Seems like I should be prepared, so I can find out if Andre or whoever from TotalBoost knows what they are talking about.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=671301

Anyway, thanks for the info; without your previous link I would have just call and order.

ive read about the problems w/ osaka and other companys.. this guy seems very legit in my opinion and if i had to order a new engine i would seriously look into him.. some things do get messed up, some parts arent there or in great shape..

as for your situation im pretty sure it will bolt up if not it cause of the drivers side upper mount.. some civic has a different mounts and you may just need that upper mount that has the 2 bolts lined up correctly instead of off centered..

you will also need a P54 del sol ac bracket to keep the ac

Thanks for clearing the P54 bracket up for me. Do you happened to know the part number? I went to Honda dealership once, and guy there don't know which one it is. He also said that 94-95 Del Sol had no VTEC (only 96 and up)?!?!

Anyway, I live in OH and it seems like getting a motor is just very difficult (nothing like in CA or maybe in Canada). That's why I want a good place to shop, so to reduce the chance for return or scam. I don't want to ship back something this big and heavy you know...if I buy, I want to keep!

I searched on Google, and it seems Andre did many advertisments...dont know if that's good or bad. He did post some of his pics into non-binary newsgroups, which is not a very good idea.

Anyway, thanks for all the info especially on the driver side mount. I want to have everything else purchased 'before' getting the engine...since I am borrowing someone's garage for the job

Hey guys,

Thought I'd clear up a bit of the situation here. It's amazing how facts get distorted over the net, so I'll just make it clear. I MADE THE OSAKA WEBSITE OVER A YEAR AGO, THAT'S IT.

I have never sold an engine for Osaka, never talked to customers, nothing. The 2nd site in question was JDMFAZE.COM which was a section of Osaka, after I realized it was not a smart idea, I quit everything. That's the whole story.

Now, as far as I know and heard from my customers, this engine will drop in directly, only difference is you will need to wire the VTEC.

Take care,

Andre

Yes, I totally agree alot of people out there only want your money, and once they have it the customer no longer exists to them. How most of them are still in business is totally beyond me.

But thanks for the comments everything. I will now stop hi-jacking this thread hehe
