Do you guys regret making the change. Pros and cons. I am trying to get some input on this one before I buy a type-s.

Why don't you tell us what you want to do with the car and what your personal preference is (power, handling, cruising, looks, etc).

Otherwise, you're gonna get a whole lot of left-field responses.

I use to own a '00 Si, which is fairly similar to the GSR. The RSX is a differnt class of car...I'm very happy with my purchase.

Just want the car for cruising, I will probably do some suspension work since, I keep reading that the stock suspension sucks. I currently have AGX and H&R OEM springs on my GSR and love it. Just want a good crusing car that is fun to push around coners like my GSR

If you're looking for cruising, and the occassional romp through back roads, the RSX wouldn't be a bad logical progression. I love the DC2, and modded, it will probably be sharper than the DC5 chassis. But the RSX seems to be more comfortable.

I test drove the GS-R before I purchased the type S and I was amazed at how much better the type S performed. GSR seemed flimsy around corners and power didnt seem there. I test drove my brothers type R and the gsr seemed like a pig. I then test drove the type S and it handled and had the power where it was needed. R was discontiuned so I purchased the S and have been satisfied since.

i used to have a gsr and rsx-s at teh same time...my s was just for daily driving..but then someone stole my teg...and i started driving the rsx more...the biggest difference is that its so easy to make power with simple mods and not opening up the motor..

random assumptions

my opinion is not an "assumption" the ONLY thing the DC5/EP does better is the chassis and motor, that's it.

tranny =
fit finish =
weight =
ease to work on =
suspension =
MMI =

this list goes on

you can agrue back and forth-forever about the gsr vs. the type-s

very true

one's that are treated decently will hold up for a suprisingly long time. that, and they are some of the best shifting, traditionally gated, (feeling) tranny's on the planet.

I almost got an RSX when they first came out. The main thing that swayed me away was how much of a PITA it looked like to do major work on. It also felt more "Americanized" then the integra...more sound deadening, less engine space for more interior space etc.

I agree. I could name a specific instance of each of the above items where the DC2 is a better car.

But for your average driver, they aren't gonna notice (or care). And that's who Honda sells 99% of their cars to.

I have an Ep3 and I like it for what it is, but I never would have given up my DC2 for it.

I would say if you are cruising with it... go with the comfort... RSX, I mean... you can't beat the interior of that car.

I had a DC2R before.

My biggest complaints about the car:

macpherson struts instead of double-wishbone
reflector headlights instead of projector headlights
cable shifter instead of a solid rod shifter (mostly why people experience 2nd gear grind)
stock michelins

The good:

leather seats
refined interior
heated seats and heated mirrors
RSX is a little more luxurious

The trade off is luxury. If it did'nt snow here, I would've gotten an S2K instead
