This thread should be dedicated to posting good (high resolution if possible) pictures of S2000's that have at least been mod'd with a hardtop. The more mods, the better

How much do the hardtops usually cost. I have seen the Amuse one cost like 5500 bucks, are their any cheaper hardtops.

The OEM hardtop can be had for $2500-3000

But it's also like 1/4 the size of the car. What's 1/4 the cost of the car, eh?

This might sound dumb but, does adding a hardtop add considerable weight to the car? And if the hardtop is added, can the soft top components be removed to save some weight? Just curious. An S2000 will definately be my next car.

i believe the hard top weighs ~30lbs? or was it 50?

you can remove the soft top components though.

weight isnt too much of an issue, my question is... does it add any more chassis rigidity?
My main turn off with the S2000 is that its an open top roadster.
I prefer a solid and rigid roof over my head when Im driving like a complete ******* on the track
Do they make roll cages (half back) for S2000s?

They do make rollcages for the S2000. Check out http://www.s2ki.com for more details on that.

The S2000 is actually one of the stiffest open top roadster out there, it not the stiffest. I think there is like one other that is better.

?
Every cage Ive ever worked with has some increase in structural rigidity. Any time you tie two structures together and triangulate it, it will increase structural rigidity (as long as you attach it to a stressed member)
a cage's purpose, aside from safety, is to increase the chassis structural rigidity and make it less susceptible to twist.

see if you can increase the chassis rigidity of the s2000 and measure that increase
