Some guys on here can be so mean to new guys. Don't listen to these fools, just add VTEC fluid and you'll be fine.

If you have a SOHC ZC you can put a VTEC head on it.... or do they already come VTEC in the SOHC form?

A set of cam regrids will do you well.

Ok guys cut the BS.

A B16 head bolts right up to your ZC engine. No probs, you just slap her on! Bam there's VTEC!

Theres a write up somewhere, good luck!

nah you guys got it all wrong. there WAS ACTUALY A ZC made in japan, the ZC-X that was a vtec motor. it came with pushrods, it was quad over head cam an it had 220hp. ultra rare JDM y0! you might have one man, , easiest way to tell is to drain all the oil out of your motor, an crank it up, if you start to hear a loud knocking noise , then you got one, consider yourself lucky.

all BS aside, NO IT WONT WORK. only way to get a vtec zc is to toss that zc aside an get a vtec motor, period

Well about this tread, I don't know what to think, you guy's are not very kind in anyway... This poor noob's only want to ask a question, at least he know that we can change a head on an engine.

First: there is no vtec fluid, you can't crank up your engine with no oil, you cant have any rare as **** quad cam vtec engine and I really don't think you can slap a b16 head on a ZC.

now your only way to have a ZC vtec, it YES, do a mini swap on it and put a VTEC head on your SOHC ZC engine, that will work, for the DOHC, I don't know what ca be done.

see ya
Kranked

WTF happened in this thread? It wasn't like this was a really stupid question or anything? So they guy doesn't know what heads fit on what motors. One person makes a legit but also humorous response, and suddenly everyone has to prove they can be funny too?

This place is going down hill.

well, thanks for the flaming guys.....
i might be a newb to this forum but i'm not to hondas... i liked the sticker idea, but too ricey, hmmm i really liked the drain all the fluids out, maybe i'll do that and start it up j/k
well, anyway, it was just a question, never heard of it being done, what i've seen so far with hondas is that basically anything is possible with time and the right parts
oh, and by the way it's DOHC

Azroth had a good start, but it will take a little more for a ZC to run with a B16. Higher lifting cams, advance timing a little bit (4* maybe) and get your ECU chipped to run a more aggressive fuel map. Then you'll have VTEC all the time!

There is no DOHC VTEC head that will bolt onto a DOHC ZC block. The DOHC ZC head will not bolt onto a SOHC block. I think there are a couple complications with putting a ZC head on a D16A1 block.

EDIT: I have heard of a D16A1 head being bolted onto an EW-1 block (1g carbureted CRX, maybe Civic too), but I've heard there are also some complications on that swap too.
