Took it apart but cracked the mid console when I was looking for the snaps!!

Get it professionally installed. Your car will thank you.

No. You take out the center console. I believe there are screws at the back on the bottom, where the compartment is, and on the front and the bottom. I don't know if there is more to it than that because i am working from memory. Once you get the center console out, you should be able to see where to go from there.

get a shop to install it or pick up a cheap hayes manual and it will show you how to remove the stereo....

I just took out my headunit on my 95 gsr. It's REALLY easy if you buy a tech manual. it came with my car when I bought it used. All you have to do is like a98tegLS said. under your E-break you will need to take off that small rectangular panel also & remove 2 bolts easy then the back part of the consol comes off. To remove the front part you need to take off all the visible screws on the outside, remove the ash tray, cup honder, & detach the lighter cable & pull that part out. Then there are a couple mounting screws around the head unit you can see. Take them off & pull it out or try pushing it from the back. GL

You don't have to take the consol off around it. just the parts underneath it. All you need to be able to see is underneith it & behind the stereo. Behind is just sitting your head where your feet rest & looking up/feeling with your hands.
