Default questions about mount for a tranny swap~

hey guys im about to swap in a manual tranny for my auto tranny... for my 98 lude... do i need to get a new mount for the swap? or are the mounts the same between auto and manual?

The tranny mount is different between the two.

Yes, for both transmissions the mount is two pieces: the transmission mount and the transmission mount bracket. The brackets are definitely different for each tranny. As far as I can tell from the sketches in the Helm manual, the mount is also different. You would need to purchase the two manual transmission pieces (or get them from a donor car).

i need the manual transmission mount, and if u want u can get a manual rear mount, but u dont have to.

What is nice about replacing the rear mount with the manual piece is that you can then run the rear ES mount insert.

I got one last question..does it matter what year manual tranny he gets? does it have to be 97'+?

it doesnt matter, as long as it is an H-series or F-series tranny since no other will fit the engine.

it is true that H or F series tranny will do. But remember you will need H series side tranny mount from 97+ ludes if you are getting a eariler F series tranny.

I got a tranny from a 92 Accord, and you will need a new intermediate shaft and tranny side mount.

superjunprelude: Yes, the rear motor mount is the same, but the tranny side mount is different. It connects the "top" part of the tranny to the passenger side wheel well.
