Default z6 Intake mani vs. y8 intake mani

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Tad &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">apparently the y8 mani isnt really better than the z6 it just looks like it should be</TD></TR></TABLE>

This was quoted from another thread, and instead of jacking the poor mans thread, I decided to start another one. Would it not seem that the short fat runners and larger plenum of the y8 intake mani would be more beneficial than the z6 intake manifold??

I would say, like in the other thread, that the shorter runners and larger plenum would provide the most benefits in the higher rev range. The longer runners of the Z6 IM and not quite as rotund of plenum as compared to the Y8 make it perform just slightly better in the lower RPM's.
