Gas Tank swap for EG hatch
i got a 92 vx EG. soon installing a D15B vtec. Has any1 here successfully swapped a gas tank from a diff civic or Teg into their EG? i know my 92vx has a 10gal tank and the Ex/Si has 11.9. I would like to use a DC teg's tanke which is 13.2 i believe.... for LONG ROAD trips to VEGAS
and Phoenix. Thankx
and Phoenix. Thankx
instead of all that labor, why dont you just fill up a portable gas container and bring it with you whenever you take road trips instead of driving around with a big *** tank daily?
It'll go in, but I forget what modifications are needed. There's another thread withthe same question a few lines down that might be of help, too.
if you care at all about weight reduction
(which you should.. you drive an eg) then stick with the small tank, a bigger tank will add alot of weight
I want to swap to a smaller one myself

weight reduction is not the deal, i have aVX daily driver. i just want a farther cruising range w/o the firehazard of a cell in the back. thanks for responses
Hey dremmel, if you end up ditching that VX tank, would you consider sending it my way?
I have a huge dent in the bottom of mine that seems to have rust forming, and it has me a little worried.

Screw that
88 Crx HF with a 96+ HX motor (convert to OBD1 and use a VX Ecu) + EX/SI transmission = kinda quick car with 45+ MPG for under what ? 4,000 if you do it right
I want to build one of those in my spare time

thats a great idea. i still have my VX ecu & wire harness. but i sold my Ex tranny last month
. I was gonna put my VX tranny back in because my Dx tranny that is in right now, is slipping out of 2nd gear sometimes. well ill take a trip to the junk yard then!
A gas tank swap isn't worth it. That extra gallon of gas will net you a 30-50 extra miles depending on your motor.
Just use that money and fill up your tank when it's almost empty.
