Default short ram intake into stock air box

(short ram intake into stock air box) has any one dun this if so how does it preform? Will a cone air filter fit inside?
I am thinking of doing this so that the intake is not pulling in so much hot air

when I bought my car, it had an AEM short ram going into the intake... it can't be bad, all you're doing is replacing the plastic tube with a metal one... and I dont think you can stick a cone filter in there, beside why would you want to

You mean so it's like an el cheapo Icebox? Someone on here has done it but using a stock-like panel filter instead of a cone filter; it's basically the stock setup but with the OEM tubing replaced by mandrel-bent tubing. That will probably work pretty similar to what you're thinking of. Then replace the stock filter with a K&N replacement filter and remove the airbox resonator.

If you're worried about the hot air, why not just get a heat shield???

heat shield what on the intake? on the filter right? heat shiedls don't really do much. I got some silly ractive filter w/ a heat shield on it, I'm sure it does alot I mean that piece of metal will definatly stop the hot air from getting in. It blocks it right Hot air CANNOT go around things called heat shields.

Sorry to be a dick but they don't work.

if that is your problem i figure you can just rig up the intake into the air box.....injen makes a half-*** heat shield...also i have seen some home made heat shields also out of a piece of aluminum.
