Default For those with the OEM optional ground effects..

My kit came with a black rubber strip that was one the sides (on the top of the rear of the sides, if you know what I mean) and the rears (the top of the sides). What do you do with this rubber stripping? I don't want to rip that off because it's going to keep water out obviously, but can you paint it? It's ugly as sin but necessary.

Anyone else have this problem? How'd you solve it?

my car is dark so you can't really notice it.

You can proably paint the ouside of it, but I'd leave the side that
makes contact alone.

Is the rubber adhesive or is it just to hold out water, or to keep the part from rubbing againest the paint. I noticed that on silver teg that i saw. It kinda stood out.

I would not recommend painting it. I painted mine and it made it hard and brittle which eventually caused cracking and chipping. Bascially defeating the purposes of having a flexible material to keep water out. I had the sides painted first, so once I saw what happened I just ripped the rubber off the back and once it was painted used a weather strip glue to put it back on.
