Default B16 Gen I and Gen II Part/Block Differences?

Car: 1991 Honda Civic with JDM B16 Gen I

I am wondering what parts are different on these engines from Gen I too Gen II, And weither there are many differences from JDM or USDM?

I am mainly needing to know what I need to say my car is when buying parts such as

Headgasket Kit
Oil pan
Starter
Alternator
Water Pump
Thermostat
Block Heater

I had tried buying a block heater here for a 99 DOHC civic it was around the same size, but the threads to fine on the block heater they gave me.

I also tried buying a new thermostat and stated the 99 DOHC and it was way to small to fit.

Can anyone help with this? Fiasco..... I love the jam my car has with this engine, But living way up north in canada am having trouble finding any info on a Gen I jdm b16.

Perhaps I will have to buy a 02 civic hatch and drop in a JDM K20A Type R

I would buy all the stuff for the GEN 1 block. One difference that i can say is that on the 92-95 b16 the temp. sensor is on the thermostat housing unlike the gen 1 which is on the head. I think everything should plug up. Im using a 88-91 Si harness on my motor(99 b16a2/ '00 GSR head)...im not running an alternator, yet.

IMO water pump, alternator, and starter shouldnt matter as long as it is for a dohc vtec motor.

Alternator may not mount up differently but i dont think you can use a 99-00 obd-2 B16 alternator on a first gen obd-0 B16 car. I believe the electronics are different as well as the plug. Water pump should be the same thing. Starter may be different than a 99-00 B16 car because of the hydro trans, so just to be safe use a 90-93 teggy one. Someone correct me if im wrong on any of this info.

OK,
alternator=90-91 teg(almost certain)
starter=90-91 teg(almost certain)

headgasket=del sol dohc vtec(certain)
oil pan=del sol dohc vtec(almost certain)
water pump=del sol dohc vtec(certain)
thermostat=del sol dohc vtec(certain)
block heater=del sol dohc vtec

in general, engine parts are del sol dohc vtec, tranny, ignition parts, and other accesories are teg. This is not a deffinate list, but should be correct. Ryan

Thank You Guys.
I found for sure the threads are different on a 1999 b16 civic.

Post this in the tech or hybrid forums. Or search in the archived topics for Katman posts. ( he's an engine ID guru. LOL)

u can either use the del sol parts or 99 si parts. they r all the same except for the alternator likewas mentioned b4. different obd's. the starter however im not sure. i dont think honda used a plug for the starter. its just the positive o-ring connector and the female slide connector. i used all 99 si parts becuz a couple of my friends work at several dealers. good luck
