JDM Recaros: Some weird about mines!
I picked u a used set of JDM Recaros and i installed in my ITR.
1st. The inner rails is a 1/2 inch too long so i could make the front inner bolt flush with the floor but i do have all 4 bolted down.
2nd. Most ODD! I just notice that my reclined adjusted is on the outside of each seat by the doors on both side.
I started to notice on all my JDM brochures that i picked up in JAPAN from the last 5yrs that the reclining adjusted should be located on the inner side of the seat, next to the center console.
Did someone in Japan may have swapped the oem rails around from driver to passenger and passenger to drivers so the adjuster would be near the door side? It does work fine for more space for my hand to adjust while door is open but it just bothers me its somehow different.
Any input welcome.

in the JDM land they have the adjuster on the inside of the car near the center console.
but if you wanna do that u might want to pick up the JDM center console which has no armrest..it's basically just a bracket that sits onto the the e-brake handle.

1st. All you need to do is switch the seats around. Pull them out, swap the brackets and voila!
2nd. It sounds like you have the wrong brackets. I went throught he same thing when I put mine in. They came with the EK brackets and I needed the DC brackets. Best way to tell is to look at the rear/inner part. Is it more flat or is it kind of rounded like a bowl? I'll have to double check, but I believe the flat are the DC brackets.

Actually if they are EK Brackets the inner rear mounting hole would be too far back to even get a bolt in. It might just be that the brackets were bent?
Well, i did have to bent the front of the inner bracket mount inorder for the front screw to catch some threads, after bolted down rest of the three but of course can not screw all the way down.
BTW, I did find out from the seller who i got the seats from that he did swap brackets due to looks.
If i do swap the seat back to the right bracket with reclining adjuster towards the center console side, would the adjuster end up wedging onto the USDM center console and i would even having more of a hard time reclining the seats??
Thanks for all the inputs.

ed,
First you shouldn't have to bend anything to make it fit unless the rail was bent in the first place. Second no matter if the rail where switch to put the Recaro Infinity roller toward the doors or not all you have to do is use the OEM seats you just took out as referrence points as to what placement the seat will go in. If your really hardcore about it just unscrew the seats from the rails there on and just swap them, but make sure you torque them down good because you don't want to fly with your seat if your in accident or hit the brakes hard. Once you got the seats like you want them place them on each side they belong on. The reason for making sure there centre beause if your not careful you it the adj lever and the rail either one them can move some making your job just that much harder.
But before you put them in make sure the seat is sitting perfectly centre on the road and put the seat in full tilt forward to make it easier to handle. Once you have it in you want to line it up and start with the first bolts but only do about 5 turns just to get them started and threaded in the holes to hold the front. Now what will happen to the rear it will slide some so you will push it slightly to get the holes aligned and do the same as you did to the front bolts with just enough turns to get the bolts threaded. After this if you know the rotation you do when you alternate tighting of the bolts ever so much and keep going around until everything is nice and flush and balanced you will do the same here. Never tighten front or back together or ou will have trouble getting the rest in...trust me..I learned the hard way. This job may take you 30-45 mins if your don't have air tools and your doing it by yourself. I remember just breaking loose my OEM bolts for the first time took me good amount of time with a hand tool and the damn inside front bolt was the toughest because there not much room to get leverage on the bolt.
Oh and get a pad for your knees because you will be hurting afterwards unless your on grass or carpet garage
