so i'm finally getting around to installing my VDO water temp and oil psi gauges and i have a few questions:
these are both mechanical gauges btw...
i'm going to install a sandwich fitting between the block and the oil filter for the oil pressure gauge. any possible problems doing it this way?
also, how should i install the water temp gauge? upper radiator hose? i honestly have no idea -- any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

There should be any problems installing the sender unit in the sandwich adapter. Just make sure you use some teflon tape to seal up the threads.
As for the water temp gauge, it would be a good idea to install the sendor unit near where the factory water temperature sendor unit is.

oil pressure - get a 1/4 brass tee and a male to male adapter , take out your oil pressure sender (just above to the left of oil filter) total cost about three bucks, do not use teflon tape on these fittings, use a little pipe thread sealant with teflon on upper threads only. coolant temp - would look for an upper rad hose to head elbow from B18A with air bleed screw, and tap that hole for the temp sender.
