do all coilover suspensions have rought ride and make noise on bumps?
i got a generic brand of coilovers( topspeed pro1) on my 92 civic hb si w/ an h22a. i had tokico adj. but i blew them out. so i put the oem shocks till i got cash. i noticed that not only is the ride bad but when i go over bumps the suspension feels and sounds like ****. When i had just lowering springs i wouldnt here any noises from the suspension. if i decide to go with a coilover suspension combo ready to install with strut and coilover already intact from the manufacturer, will i expect the same noises and ride. has anyone ever heard of the coilover suspension D2? http://www.d2racing.com.tw/ Supposedly not offered in the U.S. they have a 36 way adj. strut /coil suspension. http://www.urbanimports.com is about to become the U.S. Distributor and he is giving good deals on that suspension combo if purchased before he does his group buy.
check the bolt in the middle of the top part of the strut. i stripped my tokico on the rear side and every time i went over a bump the whole shock was shifting up and hitting the bottom of my trunk, and pretty much rendering the shock/coilover completely useless. coilovers, when installed correctly, dont make any noise or give u a bad ride. i have cheap generic ones as well and they are fine.
no i dont have power steering or a/c. as for the nut stripped up top, mine isnt, but like i said everytime i go over a bump it feels and sounds like the suspension is gonna fall off. so i was thinkin of getting the whole coilover/strut setup.
never heard of d2 but they sound pretty good. find out what the rates are before you buy though. as for your coilovers, ive been through GC, skunkworks and they do make extra noises compared to when I just had neuspeed race springs. I associated it with the spring just jumping around. but the noises were nothing to loud to be concerned about. It could be that you just have some cheaply made coilovers.

i had tokico whites, i blew them. so i had to put my oem struts, i had no cash then, as for the spring rate available for the d2 suspension, its whatever i want, i decided on a prelude rate upfront and integra in the rear.
