Default 91 civic dx distributor problem

My friend was doing a tune up on his car, while putting on the spark plug wires, the second wire plug did not grab all the way. We took it for a spin to see if it was running good, when all of a sudden the car sounded like if it was hesitating to stay on. From this point on the car turned of and we havent been able to get running again. Can someone help us out. I think it my be that the distributor burned, but Im not sure. Can I get some help please guys.

Did you put the wires in the right formation? Did you replace the cap and rotor? Sometimes that rotor falls off when it's not on tight.

check the wire order. also, one of my wires didn't want to stay put. the connecter inside the boot was all the way at the bottom and when the boot was attached, the connecter wasn't even touching the cap...lol.
