Default port polished head install questions

i just bought a port and polished head for my f22, 95 accord ex. does anyone have any tips, suggestions, warnings or anything to help me out. this is my first head job (lol). i got it for $300, was that cheap?? any advice will help. thanks.

300 is excellent if it was a good job. no special instructions, OEM honda gasket or Fel-Pro is just fine. enjoy the added hp, headwork does amazing things to the already amazing honda head. did you get the intake manifold and TB worked on too?

my car has 130,000 miles. the last timing belt was done @ 90,000. should i do that too, some one mentioned doing the water pump also since in going to have the whole thing apart anyway. no i didnt do the intake manifold or throttle body yet. that will be the next project (pretty much the next time i get money). what is blow it out mean??

i would personally do the timing belt and water pump while i was installing a new head.

blow the dust out that may have accumulated or that was perhaps never cleaned in the first place so you don't get any unwanted suprises.

how much work is involved to change the belt and water pump? is there anything else i should do while i have it open. what about shaving the head to increase the compression ratio, good idea or bad? i have a real reputable machine shop here that does that.

decking it would be a great idea, as far as shaving it down some, "good idea" would depend on your goal for compression. if you were going to pull the motor anyway, why not just hone it out and do a deck, mild build with cheap rods, and new high comp pistons? course you could always go forced.....
