Default Possible repost, but a scam indeed....

Ok first of all I would like to say that most people wouldn't be this dumb to get scammed like this but hey, it happens. Well anyways my friend put his car up on recycler.com for 6G's. It was a B20vtec 95 Si hatch. To make a long story short, don't accept cashier checks ok? Another guy I heard about got scammed the same way, the "buyer" gave him 200 dollars cash, and a cashiers check. These were both done in the Ontario/San Bernardino, So cal area. Both descriptions from both of the guys that lost there car came up the same. Tall african american, early twentys. He even showed up with a guy who he said was his dad, and a little honda magazine. He acts like he's going to buy the car, test drives it blah blah blah, does the bill of sale, has fake ID's and takes ur car basically. My friend met the guy up at night so I assume the "buyer" knows the banks aren't open he doesn't have to go with you to the bank. I dunno I mean, I'd never take a cashiers check. ****, don't even trust cash, unless he goes with me to deposit the money in the bank first. But some people do get tricked. It might not be you but could be your friend or your little brother.

ugh.. that really blows man... sucks to hear about your friends misfortune. Its hard to trust currency of any kind these days.. Everything is subject to counterfeit so... yea. Thanks to this and many other scams, i will sell my car to someone during buisness hours w/ verifiable funds through the bank before i hand over the keys to my car'
