Seriously - it's easy to roll eyes and get all sarcastical about stock cars but they make a hell of a lot of sense, in pure racing and economic terms.

In the circle track world, at the hobby level, the rules are made by the track itself. This guys local track must be pretty relaxed. Dunno if you could run this thing at Old Dominion or Hagerstown though. For the touring series, NASCAR requires round tubing in the roll cage. Square tubing is used for the frame only. In some ways, NASCAR roll cage specs are more strict than SCCA.
