Default My first JDM meet;)

I'm not one to go to Import car meets but this one was different. A friend of mine called me to tell me that he "personally" was bringing 2 Spoon race cars, the RSX and TSX. Of course the whole Import car "meet" was full of ricers and a few people from the actual racing community.

The fun was after everyone left we drove the Spoon cars around a little to load them up onto trailers.

My friend Niki Driving the TSX:

TSX and RSX:

Hey, there's my car back there, if you can peel your eyes away from the sweet pick-em-up truck

I guess I better lend a hand and get this thing on the trailer:

Dukes style exit:

To make this more relevant to this forum, here's a picture of the TSX rear suspension, nifty:

Of course if you add ".org.jpg" to each link you will get the bigger hi-rez version.

1. Advans

2. Couldn't hear the tires over the super loud exhaust.

3. Spoon seats are too narrow for my Evo2 ***.

4. Engine bay shots? Looked stock except for the yellow valve cover and cf/kv wire cover.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that you referred to JDM cars by their USDM counterpart names?

Usually it's the other way around, all the JDM-ricer idiots in the "EG" forum are calling their USDM cars EG6 and EK9

Anyway, jackassery aside, do the Spoon Accord and DC5-R have the same non-ITR-Expo-legal cage design as the Spoon DC2-R?

I wasn't sure what to call the event because there were signs around for the "JDM Meet" and it was hosted by JDM Theory and I never been to anything like it.

A car by any other name is still a car

The cages in both Spoon cars were that style with no cross bar from the driver side roof to the passenger side floor. The first picture was taken by me by sitting in the center of the car, no bars in my way.

Speaking of barZ, I lost count of how many cars I saw with crazy Barz connecting any 2 bolt on points with passengers in the back seats with their heads inches from these barz.

Are there 2 bars welded together or something to make that rear swaybar?

Those race cars will be in the US permanently? Or just here for a short period of time for couple races?

The RSX(Integra) was built as a race car but I don't believe it was ever campaigned. It's for sale for something around $50k (signed by Mr. Spoon himself )

The TSX(Euro R) is retired from racing after winning the 25 Hour Enduro. I'm not sure what's happening to it.

I would guess these cars are going to stay in the US.

Yeah, Niki from Acutech. He's a distributor of Spoon stuff now.

If you look at the enlarged version of the 2 cars from the side you can see a Acutech sticker in the rear side window of the RSX(Integra).

$50K for the DC5R!
I've seen other brand new Spoon DC5R for sale in Hong Kong. Never been raced. Since the Spoon owner had publicly said multiple times that the DC5 platform is not as good, I guess that's why they never raced them but raced the AP1 and Euro R instead. :dunno:

A "platform" is more than the front strut.

I hope you realize that BMWs and Porsches are not fwd.

As much as I don't like most of the stuff sold to the public by Spoon, they need their income to support their business right? The win in E1 class at the endurance is enough proof that their decision on the CL7 was right.

Not saying that they would have lost if they had entered the DC5R or EP3R, a win is a win. It just adds credits to what they say.

Good ole Azenis..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the control arms are at that angle in relation to the ground and the wheel, isn't that bad for handling? Shouldn't the arms be more parallel to the ground?
