I wasgoing through a junkyard yesterday looking for taillights and found a black 1983 Civic 1500 S. The exterior is in great condition other than needing new paint (no rust), the interior is all original but the seats are torn (red and black leather), and the engine in still there but missing the cam, rocker assemblies, and maybe a few exterior parts. I asked how much I could get it for but they said they can't sell it due to no title. I live in Tennessee so does anyone have any insight on how I could get a rebuilt title or something before I buy it? Also, what are the stats of the engine if anyone knows.

P.S. I found a Mr. Transmission pamplet for an axle replacement in July 02 so it hasn't been there for a long time. It also has the original 1983 12 month/12,000 mile warranty book in it.

maybe a call to the DMV? either way, the ppl at the junkyard might not want to deal with paperwork and all that, they can be lazy at times. wish u the best of luck on it!!

 

just put a lean sale on the car and in 30 days if their was no reply it's yours

 

Whats a lean sale? Can it be done with no title?

 

a lien sale? he would need to be a mechanic that has completed work in order to do that as far as I know. Or, have some other type of lien, or legal rights to the car. BTW spell check is your friend
