heres the situation I bought something denny's from honda tech and he never received the money order. I sent it on 12/31 he never received it I am going to have to cancel it and thell him to send the package COD. So can money orders be cancelled like a check? I purchased the money order from a nearby currency exchange. thanks

 

Ask the place you got it from(currency exchange) if you can. Just go up their tomorrow when they're open.

did you get reciept confirmation on the money order? if not, he probably got it and said your beat. if you did, i believe you can cancel it. never ever ever send a money order

 

yes, they can be cancelled or stopped. They will be able to verify if it was cashed or not by the receipt you should have kept.

 

no confirmation was offered to me when I purchased it, but now that I know I can stop payment I am going to do that tomorrow, the money order was only made to the person on honda tech, so only he can cash it. So we will find out cause if he did cash it then I am going to post his name here on the list of scammers

I don't know what kind of money order you got, but I work for Western Union, and on their money orders there is a 1-800 number you can call to take care of that kind of stuff. The number is 1-800-999-9660 if that helps.

Yep, that is what I was just gonna say since I got a money order like 3 days ago

Just curious, since you work for western union, if someone gets scammed, how often can you get the money back to its rightful owner??

damm that's a good question, i would like to know too

 

It's possible, but it's a huge pain in the ***. You have to fill out the "Refund Request Form" on the money order receipt, and mail it in. And from what I've heard it takes forever. That's why I HATE MONEY ORDERS!

EDIT: I forgot to mention to the original Poster, call that 1-800-999-9660 number, and see if has been cashed. It's easy to say that you've never received the M/O, and go and cash it. Just a thought

um where are you & where did you send it. it may have not gone out till Jan 2nd (no mail on the 1st) & the 4th was a sunday (no mail) - I would give it a day or two. If you sent a USPS money order you MIGHT have to wait 60 days from time it was purchased

I agree. I've been shipping out stickers left and right the past 2 weeks, and some of them have been received in 2 days, other taking a full week to reach people, only a few states away. Holidays really slow the mail down.
