What color is the car now?
Are you going to do a whole color change? Jams? Underhood? Panels off paint?
Is he aware of the headaches associated with taking care of a black car?
Does he have a garage?
Remember, when the paint and body is perfect on a black car, it is beautiful! When it isn't, it is ugly!

This is what works for me. Good luck.

I forgot to say, if I were going to paint a car black, like you are saying, it wouldn't be half-assed.

All of the windows would come out, doors off, plastic, trim, rubber, hood and engine removed, all wires, EVERYTHING APART!

THEN, I would paint it Ferrari black. No sparkle for me (can't remember the code, it's to late.

THAT, would be saweet!

You and your 'boy' need to turn to the cosmetic section of this forum.
I've seen let alone 10 threads about black paint.
IE:what color should i paint my car?/is this black good?/do you guys like this?
Search!!!

I like Black Matt primer with a thin lacquer top coat, saw it once and fell in love with it ever since.

Pirates black - a UKDM Colour, looks like dark purple depending on light. Very nice, it was limited to the VTIS models.

Werd. I saw a black Bentley at the dealer near where I live.
I thought I could fall in and drown in the black.

I'm pretty sure black is black unless there is pearl, metallic, or tons of clearcoat...

Black metallic I would say but nothing to flashy. Also if it is a light color now make sure you fix any dents. The black will make any imperfections way easier to see.

Honda always puts some color pearl in thier blacks which makes them look "milkey" in sunlight. I painted my car with a Ford black whick is deep, dark and solid. I need to get some pics up of it, it looks fantastic.
