A friend of mine is trying to get a road race organized at Gainesville in the near future. By what he tells me, the track is fairly new and it's in awesome shape. If there's 20 people or so, it'll be around $100.00 a pop.

Mike K: are we talking about just some lapping time on the track or something like an autocross that Dave_ROR, Kenji, and myself attended there for SCCA a couple of months ago. BTW, the track is great and a lot of fun...I am very interested and I'm sure Kenji and Dave are also.

 

Hopefully this time I will be able to drive.If the dealer ever decides what they are going to do about my tranny count me in.I had so much fun almost being killed by that F-body with Kenji and Type892 Last time I was there

 

Lucky for you Kenji, I plan on bringing my ITR.

The B20 CX will be hibernating for that event.

Unless of course, your 2.0 will be ready, ehh????

i'm up for it. that track is very nice and would make a nice thing to do between miami homestead in oct and sebring in dec.

I sure hope some Camaros or Firechickens are out there so we can run for the hills when they lose the *** end in a slalom and head straight at us at a high rate of speed. Man, cars sure do travel far in the grass .

Seriously, I am looking forward to going back to Gainesville to run on their roadcourse. Keep me posted guys.

I drove past the raceway this weekend too on the way to Waldo, Starke and the rallycross. I was just thinking about getting back into organizing an event there.

 

how about if we meet halfway between IL and FL and road race say in TN??? well u guys have fun with yours, i wish more ppl in IL area road races

As for this event, i'd really like to see a detailed description of the event.. run groups, etc.

 

Dave: Did you go to that Rallycross? How was it? Oh, Jesse go the Rota Slipstreams...came in today, so I'm now using his stock wheels for my Yoko's...hehe

Rallycross was fun. Got third in my class. Not too much damage to the car.. just a little bit of a bent suspension component (haven't bothered to look into it yet), a little flat tire.. and a little engine fire.. nothing much

they had a "speed bump" on the course... a 2.5 foot tall speedbump it was mad fun tho.

 

i plan on being there.I will bring some Iron maiden t-shirts for everyone.

About the most complicated stuff I can play is RHCP "Under the Bridge" and some older Metallica stuff off "Master of Puppets"

But I CAN play "Hot for Teacher" and "Panama"!
